During the time at the hospital with my niece, I can see the helicopters coming and going at the University Medical Center. It is just amazing how many times they land and go out. We found out they bring patients, organs or leave to pick up critical accident victims. There are at least 3 different helicopters that I have seen. Today while in the waiting room next to the NICU where the twins are, one of the pilots came in and he was one of my former students. It was a great reunion and we had the opportunity to discuss what a great thing he was doing. I also got to meet his wife and two little children. I told then I had taught their dad and that he was a good student. They thought that was funny.
I have seen quite a few former students either working or as a student at the Medical Center. I felt a real pride for them.
Today was another up and down day for the twins but I think we are making a little progress. Both will be in the hospital for a while with our little boy probably being able to leave before our little girl. We are just taking it day by day and watching miracles take place one at a time. Some of the gray skies have moved away from yesterday!
I sincerely appreciate all of your thoughts, prayers and well wishes. Keep them coming because we still need all of them.
