"Rocky Springs Methodist Church"
This church is the only remain structure in the once prosperous, now a ghost town, of Rocky Springs on the Natchez Trace. The church was built in 1837 and remained in use until 2010. The only changes in the interior has been the addition of electricity and on the exterior the removal of the belfry in 1901 as a safety issue.
Because of yellow fever, disastrous cotton crops and poor farming the town was abandoned by the turn of the Twentieth Century. The church however continued to be used. While we were there there was information about a couple of special services that were to be held in July this year.
