Fatsia
February 12, 2021
Fatsia also known as Glossy Paper Plant, is a beautiful green plant that fills in areas of gardens. It looks like it should be in a jungle somewhere. Fatsi, translated loosely in Japanese means "eight". That is for the eight lobes of each leaf. It is a shade loving plant. This shot shows the seedheads. Sometimes a plant will pop up somewhere because the wind or birds have carried the seeds.

3 weeks agoThis is a beautiful plant! I'm glad that it loves shade, I might have to try one in our backyard - hardly anything will grow under the trees because of the shade. Love your composition and how the seedheads seem to mimic the shape of the leaves too.
