Old Going Away

This building in a downtown area of Senatobia, Mississippi, is being torn down. I'm not sure of the reason for taking it down but there is a lot of history in this old building. From what we could tell they are geting rid of some old structures. Something I found amazing was they were doing their best to keep the old bricks in tact. They were stacking them on pallets. Someone will pay a price for these "old bricks" to put into a new structure. The only other thing is they may use them on the structure that will replace this one.

on January 24, 2021Sad to see these old buildings go when they no longer serve their intended purpose or can't be repurposed. Nice that they are saving the bricks to be reused. Well captured.

on January 24, 2021What a great shot of the window looking into the other windows. I am always sad when an old building is taken down. It would be nice if the bricks are reused on the new structure. When I was a kid, our church was in such bad shape that it had to be torn down; however, the old bricks were saved and reused on the "new church" which is still being used in my little town. I remember sitting outside on the church yard with my grandmother and we were "cleaning" the old bricks by scrapping as much of the cement off them for easier reuse.
